1. Data Collection
Information we receive through Necto falls into a few practical categories. First, there is account-related material such as a username, email address, profile details, preferences, and any content you choose to publish, save, or submit within the app. Posts, captions, comments, likes, bookmarks, direct interactions with support, and reports about other content may also be stored as part of normal community operation.
In addition, the app may gather technical records tied to your device and usage. These can include IP address, app version, device model, operating system, language setting, time zone, crash data, session information, log files, and general in-app activity such as viewed screens or feature engagement. This helps us keep the service stable and understand how people use Necto.
Certain features may request access to sensitive device permissions when relevant to the experience you choose to use. For example:
- Photos or media library: to upload profile images or headphone outfit and wearing content.
- Camera: to create and post content directly from the app, if enabled on your device.
- Location: only if a location-based feature is offered and you decide to allow access.
- Contacts: only if an optional friend-finding or invitation feature is introduced and you grant permission.
Necto may also incorporate third-party software development kits and infrastructure tools for hosting, analytics, security review, moderation support, or performance monitoring. Those tools can process limited data needed to perform their role. We do not require every permission listed above for basic browsing; permissions are requested only when a feature depends on them.
2. Data Usage
The information handled by Necto is used to operate the social features you expect from the app: creating accounts, displaying profiles, showing posts, saving items, supporting discovery, and maintaining the overall community environment. It is also used to diagnose bugs, prevent abuse, enforce platform rules, and respond to account or support issues.
Usage data may be reviewed in aggregate or on an individual basis where needed for fraud detection, trust and safety work, security investigations, and service improvement. For instance, engagement patterns can help us refine navigation, content presentation, or moderation workflows tied to style-focused community participation.
Necto may use email address or in-app messaging channels to send essential service notices, security alerts, account confirmations, or updates about important app changes. Promotional or marketing communications, if offered, will be handled in accordance with applicable law and may include an unsubscribe or opt-out method where required.
We may share information with service providers, contractors, or business partners only where reasonably necessary to run the app, secure infrastructure, process support requests, analyze app performance, or comply with law. We do not sell personal information in the ordinary meaning of the term. If sharing ever expands beyond operational purposes, this policy will be revised accordingly.
3. Data Storage & Security
Necto data may be stored on secure servers or cloud infrastructure operated directly by us or by vendors acting on our behalf. Depending on the service architecture, data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your home region. When cross-border transfers occur, we aim to use appropriate contractual or technical safeguards where the law requires them.
Security measures are designed to match the nature of the information involved. These measures may include encrypted connections, access restrictions, authentication controls, logging, internal permission management, routine maintenance, and other administrative, technical, and physical protections intended to reduce unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure.
No system can promise absolute security. For that reason, users should also take reasonable steps to protect their accounts, such as using strong credentials, maintaining device security, and contacting us promptly if they believe an account has been compromised.
Retention periods vary by category of data. Account details and user-generated content may remain available while an account is active. Technical logs and diagnostics are usually kept for shorter operational periods unless a longer retention window is needed for legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud review, or enforcing our terms. When information is no longer needed, we aim to delete it or de-identify it within a commercially reasonable timeframe.
4. Third-Party Services
Running a modern mobile app often requires support from outside providers. Necto may rely on third-party services for infrastructure, storage, analytics, moderation assistance, crash reporting, payment processing if later introduced, email delivery, customer support workflows, or security screening. These providers receive only the level of access needed to perform their contracted function.
Those third parties may maintain their own privacy terms and internal handling practices. While we select partners with operational and security considerations in mind, their environments are not controlled entirely by Necto. Users should understand that interactions routed through integrated tools can involve processing by those providers under their own legal obligations.
We may also disclose information where law, regulation, court order, or a legitimate governmental request makes disclosure necessary, or where such disclosure is reasonably required to investigate misuse, protect users, defend legal rights, or maintain service integrity.
5. User Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you specific rights regarding your personal information. These rights can include requesting access to the data we hold about you, asking us to correct inaccurate details, requesting deletion, obtaining a copy of certain information in a portable format, limiting particular forms of processing, or objecting to certain uses.
Residents covered by GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws may also have the right to know what categories of information are handled, why they are handled, and whether they are disclosed to service providers or other parties. Where applicable, you may request that we not use certain information for optional promotional purposes.
To exercise a privacy right, contact us at support@necto.com. Please describe your request with enough detail for us to verify and process it. We may need to confirm identity before acting on a request, especially where sensitive account access or deletion is involved. If local law gives you the right to appeal or complain to a supervisory authority, nothing in this policy limits that option.
6. Children's Privacy
Necto is intended for adults and older audiences only. The app is not designed for children under 18, and we do not knowingly seek or maintain personal information from anyone under that age. If we learn that an underage user has provided personal information or created an account in violation of our age restrictions, we may remove the relevant data and disable the account.
This approach is also intended to support compliance with applicable child privacy rules, including COPPA where relevant. Parents or guardians who believe a minor may have submitted information to Necto can contact us at support@necto.com so the matter can be reviewed.
7. Policy Updates
From time to time, this Privacy Policy may be revised to reflect product changes, legal developments, security practices, or operational updates. A revised version may appear within the app, on the related website, or through another suitable notice channel. The date shown at the top of this page indicates when the current version takes effect.
If a change materially affects how personal information is handled, we may provide more prominent notice where appropriate, such as an in-app message or account communication. Continued use of Necto after an updated policy becomes effective means the current version governs going forward, subject to rights granted under applicable law.
